New People Cinema is a 143-seat underground cinema in the basement of the New People building at 1746 Post Street, run by New People, Inc. in partnership with the Roxie Theater. It is where Perfect Blue plays tonight.
What they do.
New People, Inc. created the building to introduce Japanese pop culture to the U.S. through film, music, fashion and events. The cinema has DCP digital projection, a THX certified sound system, 139 fixed seats and 4 wheelchair accessible spaces.
Upstairs you will find Best Boy Electric, a bright cafe built around a living tree, on the first floor, and SOU・SOU footwear from Kyoto on the second.
