How early should I get there?
Doors are at 6:00 PM. Collect your free 11×17 poster at check-in and find a seat — GA is open seating, so if you want a specific seat, come when doors open. Film starts at 6:30. The night runs until 8:30 PM.
I'm coming in cosplay — do I still buy a ticket?
Yes, and you get the money back. Buy General Admission or VIP so your seat is held, turn up in costume, and the check-in desk hands you your $10 or $15 back in cash on the night. It isn't an Eventbrite refund and there's no code to enter. The $100 Co-Host ticket isn't refunded for cosplay. Full details on cosplay night →
Is there food and drink?
The cinema has a small concession. The real move is eating first — the Japan Center malls are directly across Post St and open until 9 PM, and there is a row of places on Buchanan that will get you fed in half an hour.
Subs or dub?
Subtitled. Original Japanese audio with English subtitles for the whole film. This is the version Kon made and the one GKIDS licensed us.
Can I bring a kid / a teenager?
No. Strictly 17+, and that includes accompanied minors. This is a licensing condition and a content one. Bring photo ID if you look under 25.
What is the after-party?
Optional, nearby in Japantown, around 9:00 PM, open to everyone with a ticket. The venue is still being confirmed — it will be announced closer to the night, by email and at the screening itself. No extra charge, but you buy your own drinks.
Is there parking?
Paid parking. Japan Center Garage on Fillmore and the Post St garage are both a two-minute walk and take card. Street parking in Japantown after 6 PM is possible but not something to plan around.
I have sensory or anxiety concerns.
Completely reasonable for this film. We can seat you on an aisle or near an exit, we will tell you roughly where the hardest scenes fall if you want to know in advance, and the lobby is a quiet place to sit at any point. Just and we'll sort it quietly.
Do you have a lost and found?
Anything left behind goes home with us and gets posted on our Instagram stories the next day. Email us and we'll arrange to get it back to you.
Will you screen this again?
